Waste clearance
Rubbish, garden waste and site waste, cleared across Brighton & Hove and within 30 miles. Loose waste is priced per tonne by type, bulky items are a fixed price each, and the invoice comes from the weighbridge ticket.
Pricing
From your photos you get an estimate in tonnes: about 0.8 tonnes of mixed waste, so about £256. The invoice is then worked out from the weighbridge ticket, which reaches you with the same-day photos of the cleared space. The minimum for a collection is £90, covering everything taken on the visit.
Loose waste, per tonne
Tap a waste type for what it covers.
Hardcore, rubble, concrete Broken concrete, bricks, blocks, tiles, old slabs. £120/t
The heaviest waste on the list and the cheapest rate on it.
Soil (clean) Excavated soil with nothing mixed in. £130/t
Clean means soil on its own. With rubble or rubbish mixed in, the load goes at the mixed rate, so keep it separate if you can.
Scrap metal Radiators, pipes, railings, guttering, sheet metal. £140/t
Anything that is mostly metal. Fridges, washing machines and other white goods are priced per item below.
Green waste Branches, hedge cuttings, grass and turf. £160/t
Garden waste of all kinds. Soil clinging to roots and turf weighs in with it, so knock off what you can.
Wood Timber, fencing, decking, pallets. £180/t
Timber and offcuts, fence panels, old decking and broken pallets.
Plasterboard Boards and offcuts, never mixed in. £280/t
Plasterboard has to stay separate from other waste. Keep it apart, and tell us it is in the pile when you send the photos.
General, mixed Bin bags, boxes, plastics, the lot. £320/t
Loads where everything is jumbled in together. The dearest rate, which is why keeping types separate pays.
Bulky items, a fixed price each
A corner sofa is big, light and awkward, so it is priced as an item, however little it weighs. Each of these has its own disposal route too: upholstered furniture cannot go to landfill any more, and fridges and freezers need a specialist facility because of the gas in them.
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Armchair | £50 |
| Sofa, two or three seater | £80 |
| Corner sofa or sofa bed | £110 |
| Mattress, single | £40 |
| Mattress, double or king | £50 |
| Fridge, freezer or fridge-freezer | £75 |
| Washing machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer or cooker | £40 |
| Microwave or other small appliance | £15 |
| Carpet, one room’s worth, rolled | £45 |
Carpet tiles and offcuts in bulk go as general mixed waste, by the tonne.
Cleared, then washed
Pressure washing is the other half of Site Sweep. Once the pile has gone, the same firm can wash the drive, patio or yard it was sitting on. One number for both.
